BENEFITS and FAQs for Saunas

Sauna use supports whole-body wellness. Whether you’re easing post-workout soreness, reducing inflammation or improving sleep, a daily sauna routine can help. But the benefits go even deeper. Regular sessions could support cardiovascular health with improved circulation, lower blood pressure and increased blood flow, acting almost like “passive exercise”. Research backs it up: a 2018 Mayo clinic study linked frequent sauna use to reduced risk of stroke, heart disease and dementia while findings from UCSF suggest heat exposure may help ease symptoms of depression and anxiety, adding mental health benefits on top of the physical ones. From muscle and joint relief to mental clarity, adding a sauna to your home could help you live a happier, healthier life.

Frequently asked questions

Where did saunas come from?

Sauna use stretches back thousands of years to ancient Finnish traditions. They were initially used as bath houses but evolved into a sacred space for spiritual reflection or even childbirth. In Finland, 90% of homes, still have a sauna. That has now expanded across Europe and now North America holds 28% of the sauna market share globally.

What kind of sauna is best for me?

Start with your space. If you’re designing an outdoor escape, exlopre our outdoor sauna collection. Prefer something indoors? There are options to create a personal, retreat-like setting. From there, choose wood burning or electric, depending on your model or your space.

What is the difference between an electric or wood burning saunas?

We offer electric or wood (traditional) saunas, which means the heater heats the air around you using a stove and rocks. You may have heard of infrared saunas, which use light waves to heat your body directly vs. the air around you. We like that both Electric and Wood Burning saunas both use steam to give you that "classic" Finnish experience with all-encompassing heat and the ability to create a "löyly" (steam). Choosing a wood-burning sauna can offer you an authentic, sensory-rich ritual with "softer" radiant heat, while electric saunas prioritize convenience, rapid heating, and precise temperature control.  Wood-burning saunas are also favored by purists for their traditional atmosphere and performance in remote locations or where electricity is not available. An electric sauna has less maintenance, with no chimney or ash to clean an no need to chop wood. Additionally, there is no smoke or open flame.

Do saunas require assembly?

Some of our saunas come fully assembled and need placement and installation of the actual sauna and heater. Others do need some assembly, but for those, we provide step-by-step instructions and videos to make the process very straightforward. And you can either grab some friends and family and do the assembly yourself or if you need help, we can help you find it in your local area.
